People often say my work is too scary for kids. A few years ago someone thought they would capitalise on that and hired me to do the cover for a children's horror story...
This one didn't work out either... perhaps it wasn't scary enough?
Sorry! I think that isn't clear? I would print a flat black page on the photocopier then scratch the drawing with sandpaper and use an eraser to lift the loose toner from the image.
Thanks for satisfying my curiosity :-) That's very inventive. I really enjoy your use of light and dark. And for the colour one, also some dusky mid tones. Lovely. Can't imagine why they didn't go for it. You'll need to write your own.
They're all great. What medium have you used for the black and white scratchy ones?
ReplyDeleteit's obscure as usual... They are photocopy toner on paper scratched off with sandpaper.

ReplyDeleteThey're brilliant! I love the colours and tones to the first image! Very spooky images indeed... they were silly not to use them!
ReplyDeleteI don't know... they usually know what they are talking about ^-^! They probably sold more copies with the photo montage cover they went for.
